Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 23, China Changan Automobile Group and the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (“CATARC”) held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony in Chongqing, marking a new phase in their long-standing partnership.

China Changan Group and CATARC have maintained extensive cooperation across multiple domains for years, yielding notable achievements. The two sides have jointly advanced vehicle safety design and development, tackling critical technical challenges and addressing long-standing industry gaps. In the field of energy efficiency standards, they co-led the formulation of key benchmarks, including high- and low-temperature testing protocols for plug-in hybrid vehicles. On the low-carbon front, the partners developed a comprehensive carbon accounting model for the entire automotive life cycle, establishing independent carbon evaluation capabilities that now underpin the industry’s transition toward greener development.

The new agreement represents a deepened stage of collaboration between the two organizations. Moving forward, China Changan Group and CATARC plan to leverage their respective strengths under a shared vision of innovation and sustainable growth. Their partnership will focus on complementary expertise, practical outcomes, and mutual advancement, with the goal of jointly driving high-quality development and fostering a more resilient and forward-looking automotive ecosystem in China.
