According to MiningNews.net, Meteoric Resources and Viridis Mining & Minerals have been included in the list of the Strategic Minerals Funding Program, which has a total value of BRL 5 billion and is funded by the Brazilian Funding Authority for Studies and Projects (Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos, Finep) and the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES). The program aims to strengthen the strategic minerals supply chain and promote investment in the production, research, development, and innovation capabilities of critical minerals.

Meteoric Resources submitted an application for the expansion and de-risking of the Caldeira rare earth project, as well as the construction of a pilot plant and downstream rare earth separation and processing facilities.

Viridis Mining & Minerals has primarily applied for funding to rapidly advance the development of the Colossus and Viridion projects. The company’s partner is Ionic Rare Earths.
