【Jiangsu Plans 95,000-Ton Lithium Battery Recycling Project】
Recently, the Yancheng Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau in Jiangsu Province officially announced the acceptance of the environmental impact assessment report for a high-value recycling project targeting spent lithium-ion batteries. The project will have an annual processing capacity of 30,000 tons of spent lithium batteries (including 20,000 tons for regeneration and 10,000 tons for tiered sorting), 10,000 tons of positive/negative electrode scraps, 15,000 tons of electrode/battery material powder, 20,000 tons of nickel hydroxide (a semi-processed product in the battery material supply chain, non-hazardous), and 20,000 tons of cobalt hydroxide (a semi-processed product in the battery material supply chain, non-hazardous).

【Jilin Welcomes 4-Billion-Yuan Power Battery Project】
Under a newly signed agreement, an energy company has expanded its original project in Gongzhuling City by adding a 3 GWh titanium-lithium high-energy power battery production line. Total investment now stands at 4.02 billion yuan, up from the initial 2.52 billion yuan. Upon completion, the project’s total power battery capacity will reach 8 GWh, with an estimated annual output value of 7.344 billion yuan and annual tax revenue of 670 million yuan.

【10,000-Ton Lithium Battery Recycling Project Proposed】
On April 10, Linyi Yihe New District announced the acceptance of a recycling project for 10,000 tons of spent lithium batteries annually. The project will establish a production line to process spent batteries, electrode sheets, and battery cells through sorting, dismantling, crushing, screening, and refining to recover battery powders and metals (copper, aluminum, iron) for downstream reuse.

【Lithium Battery Cathode Material Project Lands in Sichuan】
A cathode material production project with a total investment of approximately 5.6 billion yuan has been signed in Suining City. The investor previously completed two phases of lithium iron phosphate projects in the region, totaling 1.86 billion yuan in investment and 110,000 tons of annual capacity. These projects generated 6.118 billion yuan in output value in 2024.

【10,000-Ton Lithium Battery Recycling Project Advances in Anhui】
The Huainan Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau recently released the second public consultation draft for a lithium battery recycling and comprehensive utilization project. With a total investment of 120 million yuan (including 6.1 million yuan for environmental protection), the project will process 10,000 tons of spent power and consumer lithium-ion batteries annually, including equal volumes of ternary and lithium iron phosphate batteries.

【Battery Material Project Accelerates in Jiangsu】
A new energy battery key materials project in Lianyungang City aims to achieve an annual output of 168,000 tons of critical materials, including 100,000 tons of ternary precursor, 60,000 tons of battery-grade nickel sulfate crystals, 8,000 tons of battery-grade manganese tetroxide, 30,000 tons of electrodeposited nickel, and 7,000 tons of electrodeposited cobalt.
