Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Recently, NIO’s founder, Chairman, and CEO William Bin Li revealed that NIO ‘s all-electric executive sedan model ET9 would officially hit the market on December 21 at the NIO Day 2024, its most important event of the year. The model has been available in pre-sale with a price of 800,000 yuan. Official delivery is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2025.
The ET9 adopts its signature split-headlight design, with the upper section featuring segmented daytime running lights and the lower portion merging the lens headlights with the air intake. The model follows a coupe-like design with a sleek, sloping roofline. In addition, the ET9 is equipped with a roof-mounted liDAR and cameras on either side.
In terms of size, the ET9 measures 5,325 mm long, 2,017 mm wide, and 1,621 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,250 mm. At the rear, the model features a seamless design, with a panoramic glass roof connected to the rear window, and a full-width taillight cluster.
Inside, the ET9 features a 4-seater layout, with an array of advanced tech features, including an all-focus AR head-up display, a streaming media rear-view mirror, a 15.6-inch AMOLED central touchscreen, a 14.5-inch rear-seat display, and an 8-inch multi-function control screen for rear passengers, according to NIO’s official images.
The ET9 is powered by two 5nm automotive-grade NIO NX9031 intelligent driving chips, alongside the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, forming a central super computing platform known as ADAM 2.0. Thanks to the system, the model supports various functions across six key areas from intelligent driving, smart cockpit, intelligent chassis, vehicle body, powertrain to cloud services.
As for the power performance, the ET9 features a high-performance all-wheel-drive system with a silicon carbide (SiC) electric drive, offering a front and rear motor with a maximum power output of 180 kW and 340 kW, respectively and peak torque of 5,000 Nm.
The NIO ET9 features an advanced 900V architecture compatible with charging piles ranging from 500V to 1000V. Equipped with NIO’s self-developed 46105 cylindrical battery, the vehicle delivers a peak charging power of 600 kW and a peak current of 772 A. The battery offers an energy density of 292 Wh/kg and a capacity of 120 kWh, enabling a range boost of 255 km in just 5 minutes of charging. A battery swap take as little as 3 minutes.
